With important examples of baroque artwork enriching its surroundings, some of its main buildings received a touch of mastery from the sculptor Aleijadinho. Thanks to its rich heritage, Tiradentes is frequently chosen as a set for movie and TV recordings. The city’s calendar is also full of events; in addition to the traditional Street Carnival and Semana Santa (Holy Week), highlights include the Cinema Festival in January, the Encontro dos Apreciadores da Harley Davidson (Meeting of fans of Harley Davidson) in July, and the Gastronomy Festival in August. Tourists should also pay a visit to the district of Bichinho.
